Celebrate Summer with Standard Wormwood Distillery's Unique Cocktails

Summer is here, and what better way to celebrate than with three expertly crafted cocktails from Standard Wormwood Distillery? Founded by New York natives Taras Hrabowksy and Sasha Selimotic, Standard Wormwood pushes the boundaries of Wormwood-derived spirits, creating a new model for cocktail bars by making everything in-house (distilling on a NYC farm). With each distinctive spirit, liqueur, and cordial, you'll experience a surprising depth of flavor that's both unique and delicious.

This summer, Standard Wormwood is excited to offer three unique cocktails, each celebrating a different holiday. The Wolf cocktail is a rich, complex, and boozy old fashioned style that's perfect for Father's Day. Made with Standard Wormwood Amaro, Standard Wormwood Rye, and house black cardamom bitters, it's sure to impress and delight. For the Summer Solstice, try the refreshing and herbaceous Summer Solstice Margarita. It captures the essence of the season with a unique blend of fresh ingredients and subtle spice notes.

And for a taste of American history honoring the 4th of July, try the Rye Smash cocktail. This unique blend of America's first whiskey, fresh mint, and Pickert Farms NY Maple Syrup will transport you back to the colonial era in a single sip.

All of these amazing cocktails are available exclusively at Standard Wormwood Distillery in Brooklyn, NY. Raise a glass (or 3) to Dad, Summer, & Solstice!

“We take great pride in crafting cocktails that are rich, complex, and boozy. Our house old fashioned, The Wolf, is a personal favorite of mine, with undertones of leather and smoke on the finish that continue to develop and mature throughout the cocktail. The name of the cocktail is a nod to the surprisingly peaceable and complex nature of wolves, and I love how this complexity speaks to the protective and devoted nature of fathers and caregivers everywhere. So this Father's Day, I invite you to join me in raising a glass to all the Dads with The Wolf, a drink that is both delicious and meaningful, a bedrock at our cocktail bar.” - Sasha Selimotic, co-founder at Standard Wormwood Distillery

“The margarita has a rich history dating back to the 1930s when it first emerged as a popular cocktail in Mexico. However, it wasn't until the 1970s that the margarita became synonymous with summer, thanks to its refreshing and citrusy flavor profile. Today, the margarita is still a beloved summer cocktail and is often associated with the summer solstice, a historic holiday that celebrates the longest day of the year. During this time, people gather to celebrate the start of summer and the abundance of fresh produce that comes with it. The Summer Solstice Margarita pays homage to this tradition by incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients like pipicha and Thai basil. These herbs, which are commonly used in Mexican cuisine, add a burst of flavor and aroma that perfectly captures the essence of summer. So raise a glass of this delicious cocktail, and toast to the start of a new season filled with warmth, sunshine, and good times with loved ones." - Sasha Selimotic, co-founder at Standard Wormwood Distillery

"When it comes to celebrating the 4th of July, there's no better cocktail than the Rye Smash. As America's first whiskey, rye has a long and storied history in our country, dating back to the colonial era. This cocktail pays homage to that tradition by combining the classic flavors of a whiskey sour and a mint julep into one delicious drink. The addition of Pickert Farms NY Maple Syrup adds a touch of sweetness that perfectly complements the rich depth of the Wormwood Rye. Meanwhile, the House Clove Bitters and Apple Cider Vinegar bring a balanced acidity that makes this cocktail perfect for sipping on a hot summer day. But it's the fresh mint that really sets this cocktail apart, infusing it with a refreshing and invigorating flavor that will make you want to keep sipping. Whether you're celebrating the 4th of July or just looking for a year-round mainstay, the Rye Smash is the perfect cocktail to enjoy with friends and family." - Sasha Selimotic, co-founder at Standard Wormwood Distillery
