Marsh House, The Gulch’s go-to dining destination for elevated Southern fare and seafood, is inviting guests to delve deep into the world of wine with the eatery’s interactive wine program. Each month, imbibers are welcome to sip and learn with General Manager and Wine Director Tim Rawding as he presents new themes centered around various grape varietals, vintages, and regions.
“Our goal with this program is to soften the wine experience and really make it fun and approachable. It’s all about consistency and providing a platform to ask questions,” says Rawding. “We are trying to create a destination for enjoying great wine.”
Guests looking to up their wine game can participate in the following ongoing events: Conversations by the Glass, Wine Class, and Fêtes de Amis. Held every Wednesday from 5 – 7p.m. (prices vary) at the Marsh House bar,Conversations by the Glass is an intimate experience that gives wine enthusiats the opportunity to sample wines that are typically only offered by the bottle. For those looking to dig deeper and explore various pours, Wine Classes are offered monthly for just $20 per person. These user friendly classes serve as a preview to the selection that will be introduced to the restaurant’s rotating wine menu. Closing out the experience is the Fêtes de Amis, also known as the Feast of Friends. Priced at $99 per person (including tax and gratuity), the wine dinner series takes place at the end of each month, and includes four-courses perfectly paired with the featured wines of the month. Each pour is designed to complement Chef Nathan Duensing’s inventive yet comforting cuisine.
