I would have to say I had my first and last experience going to the exit/in in Nashville this past Thursday. After a month of being excited about the Brantley Gilbert and Eli Young Band show it all came down to much disappointment. I have been a Eli Young Band fan for years, I have just never been close enough to where they are playing to see a show. I also think that Brantley Gilbert is taking the country music scene by storm and I am so excited for him! This was a show that along with many others could not be missed. The show was defiantly sold out and a line around the block at least an hour before the show! The cold weather was not fun that night for us in our dresses so luckily the nice folks in line let us skip….though we weren’t allowed in. In all the chaos of having a sold out show, there was a mess up with the guest list. I was on there but the laminate was not going to be sufficient to get our other KG in? After a wild goose chase seriously from front to back to side door with bouncers that weren’t nice or helpful, we finally got word on how to get in with our passes. This was of course an hour later in freezing weather and having to miss the awesome Brian Davis live band. Then buying 2 $10 drinks just to get warm.
Anyways, Brantley rocked the packed house as always, and after 2 years of working at his shows we finally got to meet, and his band and crew were very nice. But Eli Young band show didn’t go so well in my opinion, If I had to guess half the crowd left after Brantley along with the sound guys because they really didn’t sound that great.I was very disappointed after wanting to see then for so long, how boring it really was. We left after a few songs to hang out with everyone else by the buses. I would like to put a BIG thanks in here to Ken at Average Joes for the passes and helping us through the madness of the night. Also we got to hang out with the Daniel Lee band and Chris Hurt, if you have not seen them live yet or heard their music, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!! And thanks to the most fabulous women ever Lyn with TSJ Multimedia! After the shows we loaded up and headed to the tin roof to end the night!
