When it comes to entertainment, Becki McLeod is proof that size doesn’t matter. Out of her small frame
comes one of the most powerful and soulful voices in the music industry today. Born in small town South
Carolina, her musical journey began almost at birth. Surrounded by music, both at home and in her church,
it was obvious she had a special gift. Her inaugural performance was on her first birthday. She sang
Happy Birthday to herself and hasn’t stopped since.
As a child, she began singing in her school and church choirs. Not long after, she was the featured artist at
many local events. At age 14, she began participating in local competitions and received many awards
throughout the state. In 1999, Becki won the South Carolina Star Search and went on to compete in the
national competition. She was also chosen for the All-State choir all four years of high school.
She received a scholarship in voice to attend Coker College and began yet another journey in her musical
career. Although she enjoyed the classical music and musical theater, country and rock music were her true
passion. In 2000, she began touring with the all girl group, Carolina Blonde. During her run with the
group, she played during Bike Week at the Harley Davison Rally, Darlington Raceway and many festivals
in South Carolina.
In May 2003, Becki made the move to Nashville, Tn and quickly became a household name in the historic
clubs on Broadway. Playing three nights a week she began to develop her own style and a fan base to go
with it. Becki names some of her greatest influences as Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd, Patty Loveless and
Stevie Nicks. A powerful combination of soul and grace, her voice is all her own. She was named Artist
of The Year at the King Eagle Music Awards, Chattanooga Idol and had been featured on the radio and tv.
After a few years, she met her booking agent and began playing the club circuit throughout the southeast.
She has opened for such artist as Jason Micheal Carroll, Trent Tomlinson, Jason Jones and many others.
Most recently she played at the National Quarterhorse Congress, held in Columbus Ohio. She will also be
the headline act at the South Carolina Iris Festival in May.
Currently, Becki is working on a new album and keeping busy out on the road. Coming to a town near you
in the very near future.
